Custom Day trips are designed for larger groups or families that want to spend time together in Yosemite while learning how to fly fish. Our experienced guides will get you into the back country for a day of hiking, nature viewing and fly fishing. This trip is great for beginner groups that are interested in learning the fundamentals of fly fishing on a forgiving sub alpine lake and it's perfect for experienced groups that want to have access to all their professional fly fishing guide's local knowledge and experience. Expect to get away from all the large crowds of the park as you go hiking in Yosemite's pristine back country. This trip will take you to amazing sub-alpine lakes and rivers that hold the best possibility of catching wild, native trout. 
Adventure times: 8:00am to 6:00pm
What's Included In The Cost Of The Trip: 
Professional fly fishing guide, transportation(as stated in Itinerary), fly fishing gear(Fly fishing rods and reels, fly fishing supplies, all flies and waders), trekking polls, day packs and any trip planning help you need from our professional adventure coordinators. 

What You Need To Bring: 
Completed trip registration forms, park admission or your park pass if you already have one, California fishing license, snacks and water(at least 32oz), comfortable footwear and extra socks, personal clothing(Neutral colored, layered clothing; including wind/rain jacket) and a camera.

Meals: 
A custom ordered backpackers lunch is provide for all guests that book our custom day fly fishing trip. We do advise guests to bring extra snacks just in case.

Preparation: 
Expect to hike and/or fly fish on rugged terrain. This is where preparation and training is very important so you can maximize the enjoyment and success of your trip. We recommend doing some cardio exercises at least a few times a week prior to your trip so your body will be ready to take on the task at hand. 
No Fly Fishing Experience Needed ~ Amount of Hiking: 4 to 8 miles
  • Your private guide will pick you up at the start of your trip from any lodge along Highway 120 or at one of our pre-determined meeting locations.
  • Once they figure out what kind of trip you're looking for and what your goals and desires are for your trip, you will head to your fly fishing location inside Yosemite National Park.
  • Your guide will provide your custom backpackers lunch when you decide it's time to eat. Once lunch is finished, you will head back on the water to chase those wild Yosemite trout. 
  • Your guide will drop you back off at your pick up location by 6:00pm
All of our professional fly fishing guides are certified in First Aid and CPR. They carry first aid kits, maps, water filters, emergency GPS locators, cell phones and Yosemite National Park guiding permits.
